Polvo Declares Anti-War

Chicago, IL— Amidst swelling liberal frustrations and fears, increasingly rampant anti-war protests and sprinkled “Impeach Bush” bumper-stickers, Polvo feels the call to anti-arms and non-military action and proffers its own declaration of anti-war sentiments.

On Friday March 21st, 2003, Terrorist Art: Protesting War will open at Polvo.

Terrorist Art:  Protesting War will adjoin the installation, sculpture, video, photography, mixed media and painting of veteran and emerging Chicago artists.   Propelled by the tensions, anxieties and complexities of war, their collaborative effort will critique and promote awareness of the casualties of war and the benefits of peace.  From comical manipulations of homeland security to acute examinations of domestic and international policy, the artwork acquires sociopolitical agency and transmits the opinions and voice of the Chicago art scene in respect to this war.
